i write songs, i play guitar, i like to do photography. what can i do take make quick money right now?
i am 18 and i can’t hold a regular job. i live with my mother who is disabled and we are a little below the poverty level. i want to make money right away by using my talents but i don’t know how. any tips, experiances, and suggestions/ advice is well appreciated!

Maybe you can get some solo acoustic gigs around town playing your songs, along with some cover songs. It probably won’t pay much, but it’s a start.

Talk to local bars that have musicians come in and play. If you don’t have a demo recorded, talk to the owner/manager of the bar and see if you can setup a time to play him/her a song or two. Bring a list of songs you can play(covers and your own) and give it to them.
You should plan on playing atleast an hour(if you’re an opening act), or 3-4 if you’re the only one there.
If you don’t have 3-4 hours of material, scout around for local bands that play, befriend them and let them know you’re looking to play some shows around town. If they need an opener they can call you, and you may get a small sum of $ for playing opening.
At this point it’s all about networking, talk to people, get your name out there. Find out who makes the decisions and who pays the artists. It takes time and dedication but if you really want it then it’s possible.
